Hi Mike,
I have talked with you before regarding the Igou and Harding families. The only thing I can come up with is that Ruth Igou Harding's sisters, Nellie aka: Ellen, Ellie Igou Parsons and Elizabeth Igou Scott Parsons lived in Jefferson Co., AL. and that might be why some of the family moved back to AL. I have never been able to locate where James and Ruth Harding or Rufus and Flora Harding were after 1880 Arkanas Census. Do you know where they went after that or where they might have been in 1900 if they were still living?
I have talked to another researcher that pointed me in the right direction regarding where Nellie Igou Parsons and Elizabeth Ann Igou Scott Parsons are buried at. They are in the Valley Creek Cemetery in Jefferson County, AL; as well as, Elizabeth's son, David H. Scott and his family. A lot of the Parsons and Scott families are buried in Valley Creek Cemetery. Check out the Hueytown Historical Society website at: http://www.hueytown.org/historical/. I know this is not your direct line, but sometimes you have to try other avenues and try some of the brothers and sisters. Ruth's brother, John T. Igou married to Eustatia aka: Statie Brackett, married 24 Dec 1857 in Jefferson County, AL. I think maybe Statie might have some Indian heritage as I have seen through RootsWeb that the Brackett family line seems to have quite a bit of information regarding their Indian hertiage. I just have not yet figured out who Statie's parents are to make the connection. I have never been able to verify any Indian blood lines on the Igou family, only French so far.
