Ernie, how good of you to answer. However, I see quite a lot of people on the net with the same view as you have decribed. Nevertheless, the reason people think that Andrew Jackson Igou is a "Junior" and father a "Senior" is because in the 1870 Federal Census the father lists himself as "A. J." followed thereunder, among other children, as listing one Andrew J. in his family. In reality, the father's name was Joseph. He is listed as "Joseph" in the 1850 Census when he first arrived in Jefferson County, Alabama. He is also listed in the 1880 Census of Hot Springs, Arkansas as "Joseph". Nowhere, nor in any record, is this man listed as Andrew Jackson Igo/Igou. In the 1850 Census, Joseph lists himself as 40(1810), although your date of 6 Nov 1813 may well be correct. Contrary to the info which you have in your possession, Joseph is not to be found in the 1880 DeKalb Co.,Alabama but instead is in Hot Springs, Arkansas and his daughter Rutha E.(1832-33) is living beside him. If you desire, I can upload copies of these censuses to support the above. You indicated a marriage in 1835, can you please inform me of that location. I am simply assisting an Igo/Igou client for another two days. Sid A. Notify Administrator about this message?
