I am a descendant of Rutha Jincy Igo, born ca. 1848 in TN. She was the daughter of Joseph & Bela Velvasadda Igo, also from TN,who were 49 and 47 respectively on the 1860 census of Jefferson Co AL. The other Igo children - siblings of Ruth: Eliza - 22 Ellenda - 16 James - 14 Ruth J. - 12 Florina (Flora) - 10 Joseph - 7 Joseph Igo the father also had a mother, Rutha Jincy Igo, who was 87 on the Hot Springs Co., ARK census of 1880. She also was from TN. The family moved to Malvern Arkansas after Ruth and Flora married James and Rufus Harding (brothers) in 1868 (weddings one month apart and witnessed by each other). The children of James & Ruth, however, ended up back in Jefferson County AL. Can anyone solve this mystery for me? Why did they go to Malvern? Why did the kids come back? The family also believes that Ruth Igo(the younger)was at least part Indian, if not totally. Notify Administrator about this message?
