Glenda,
Please send information about your mother's book about the Igo family and how to obtain a copy.

I am looking for a link regarding my great grandparents: Nancy Ellen(Igo)Laws who married Charles H. Laws both buried in McAllester, Pittsburg, OK. I believe their families were from Ohio, Illinois or Missouri area, but not sure just where.

I recently spoke to an Igo family member here in California who told me they had always heard there were several Igo brothers who came to the US from France and fought during the revolution - some for General George Washington. After the war was over, none of the brothers wanted to return to France, so they changed the spelling of their names and each one went in separate directions - some to the north - some to the south. I was told that at least one of the brothers had worked for General Washington and for his reward was granted some land in the north - perhaps in Missouri when the area was opened up. I have often wondered about this - no reason to disbelieve the story, but not sure how to prove.
E-mail area in GenForum no longer shows how to reach by that method, so have to post and hope you see it soon.
Anne
