From the engraving on his tombstone, Jonathan Iden was born 30 April 1829. His father was Randolph Iden, born 1796 in Loudoun Co Virginia. His mother was Matilda Houser, born about 1799 in Virginia. They were married in 1819 at Warrenton, Fauquier Co, Virginia. Jonathan was the third of nine children, preceded by sisters Miranda and Eliza. Soon after Jonathan's birth (about 1830) Randolph moved his family from Virginia to Hopewell Twp, Licking Co, Ohio, and later to Hanover Twp in the same county. There were born their six other children - Hannah, Mary, Randolph, Matilda, Thomas, and George. George, the youngest child, was born on 09 Jul 1845, and Randolph their father died about a year later, in Aug 1846. After Randolph Iden's death, their mother Matilda remarried, to a Henry Bounds, sometime prior to 1850.
Hope this helps. Jonathan's wife Elisabeth is still a bit of a mystery; I don't know much more about her yet than that she was born about 1829 in Ohio.
