Ide Family

I ran across this the other day. I am just blown away that so many people are the decendants of a single progenitor. For the record, I am also a descendant of Nicholas Ide. My GGGrandfather is George Abel Ide, referenced in the Ide geneology in the appendix of Simeon Ide's biography. My GGGrandfather moved to Iowa from Attleborough, MA after the Civil War and farmed south of Creston, Iowa. The center of the family still resides there, although some have scattered to other parts of the US. While I seldom meet another with the name, I had a most enjoyable experience several years ago. When greeting a visitor to our parish in Oklahoma, the man asked me about my last name. It turned out his grandmother was an Ide, and hailed from Attleborough, MA. Small and very pleasant world at times.

Regards,

Jay Ide
