Galena W. Iddings
OAK HILL - Galena W. Iddings, 83, of Oak Hill, W.Va., passed away on Monday, Jan. 5, 2004, at Plateau Medical Center in Oak Hill.
Born July 30, 1920, at Gilbert, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Robert E. and Rachel Burnside Wooldridge.
She was retired from the WV State Department of Mines, Oak Hill. Mrs. Iddings was a member of the Oak Hill United Methodist Church, Oak Hill Civitan Club and was very involved in other civic activities and organizations.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Iddings, who was the longtime druggist at Kelly Drug Store in Oak Hill.
Survivors include sons, Jim Iddings and wife, Chris, of Henderson, Nev.; Bob Iddings and wife, Mona, of St. Albans; and Joe Iddings of Columbus, Ohio; grandchildren, Amanda Iddings, Bobby Iddings, Adam Iddings, and Daniel Iddings; brother, Frank Wooldridge of Charleston; sisters, Betty Trotter of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Martha McGuffin of Albemarle, N.C., and Jean Carte of Shadyside, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill, on Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2004, from 6 to 8 p.m.
Services will be on Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2004, at 1 p.m. at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill with the Rev. James Shepherd officiating. Burial will be at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the American Red Cross, Fayette County Chapter, PO Box 355, Oak Hill, WV 25901.
