Hi Again Bill.
Many people confuse Iddings/Eddings. We published a history book "The Iddings & Their Forebears" copyrightd in 1993. It is in many genealogical libraries. We are now in the process of a second edition. We have established an Iddings History Group on the internet.
The Iddings arrived in America to Pennsylvania in 1698. The Eddings arrived to Amercia, to Virginia, John Edings in 1757 and Simon Eddings in 1765. They came from diferent areas of England, Iddings from Shropshire. The Eddings; John from Huntingshire and Simon from Hamptonshire. There is possibly an Iddings/Eddings connection in England bofore 1066 and William the Conquror, but I havn't found it. The name Iddings has its origin with the King of Bernicia, King Ida in AD 547. Of course I'm intereted if you find a connection..
