hello, everyone. this is to let you know that the washington county web site is up and running again. my name is scot stout and i'm the new coordinator.
the previous coordinator removed all information when she took down the web site, so i'm starting over from scratch. if you have transcribed records you may send them to me. however, copyrighted materials, such as obituaries, newspaper articles, or cemetery enumerations done by a 3rd party, must be accompanied by a permission statement from the source company before i can legally post it on the web site. text information should be typed into an e-mail or Word document (rather than scanned as an image, which cannot be found by researchers searching by keywords). photos should be in .jpg format at 72 dpi. all information and photos must be of persons who have been deceased for at least 20 years this is to prevent identity theft... (my own grandmother died 19 years, and i'd hate to find that someone stole her identity!!)
