UPDATE--Spurgeon Monroe Hargis was my father. He was born Aug. 22, 1890, Springfield, Mo. Moved to Colo. as a child with his parents, Elias and Mehalia(Bradford)Hargis. Also 11 brothers and sisters. Also His uncle Zachariah his wife and 12 children. They settled S.E. of Denver, There was a town then named Hargisville. After homesteading in Co. he was drafted into the WW1, after serving his time he went to Cal.. where there was relatives, He built watertowers. later he and His nephew Albert(Ab) came to Jerome,Idaho where they had a farm. There he met my mother Hazl B. Lee, and Ab met my aunt Margorie Lee (My mothers sister) The 4 of them married April 28, 1928. Having a hard time making a living they went back to Colo. where they had Thelma Feb. 1929. The depression kept them from making a living there, but they had three more kids there. My sister Barbara, Leola, and brother Dewey, before returning to Ida. to farm. my dad and mom then had a 40 acre farm S.E. of Jerome. My brother Leo Elias, Sister Beulah, and myself (Goldie Anne)in 1939 were born there. In 1956 he sold the farm and moved into town later dying of heart failure at the age of 71.
