Calvin was my dad. He was Jess Calvin Vest, but I only knew him as Jess. Before he went to WWII, he was only known as Calvin. After, he came back, he had been called Jess for so long and then moved to Portland, Oregon from Hollister when I was less than l year old. In Portland, he was only known as Jess. His sisters always called him Calvin when they came to Portland to visit. By the way, he passed away when he was 46 of a heart attack. (I guess, like he always said, he was a bit of a holy terror as a lad.) Please keep in touch and if you have other stories I would like to hear them. I am at lmarquart@hotmail.com.
