Hello Mr. Hamblin,

Stuck on what maybe the connection of Geo.& Mary Ann Whickers from the 1920 Madison Co. ID Census with ORAL & Calvin SAVAGE as boarders, I have decided to probe further. Hope that is ok with you.

First I wanted to find ORAL SAVAGE's parents to see if they were indeed together in 1910, then I wanted to know where ORAL's Fathers was in 1920.......

Guess what, a few more questions????

On 14Apr1910 on Main Street in Teton, Fremont County, Idaho, I saw where there is a SAVAGE FAMILY:
SAVAGE, Albert W. H/H, 41 m1 (Married 7 yrs =married abt. 1903) born in Utah, parents born in US
SAVAGE, Caroline (Clark), 26 m1 (Married 7 yrs) Mother to 4 children, 3 living in 1910(?)
The issues listed were as spelled on actual census:
Liod D. son, 6 single born Utah
Velate (?) son, 4 single born Wyoming
Calvin son, 5/12, single born Idaho
(So where is our ORAl if he was born in 1909? Could he be the 4th child & just not living within household?)
The "Velate" name is also a puzzle. I looked & thought for a long time but can't place what other male name this might be. If it had been daughter noted, I thought maybe a misspelled "Violet". I have not been able to make a connection for a male Velate Savage, I am sorry.

Now on 14Jan1920 in Salem, Madison County, Idaho I found a "Abbert" (Albert) SAVAGE as H/H only resident of Household, widowed status, general farm. This possibly is your William Albert/Albert William Savage, Oral's Father, don't you think?
~~~T625-293 ED200 pg 10B Family 328/341, Salem, Madison County, Idaho, 1920 US Federal Census~~~~
So my thought is this Albert Savage & Caroline Clark married about 1903, probably in Utah, were in Wyoming c.1906 then ended up settling in Southern Idaho with Caroline dying in 1918 with young children & Albert boarding the 2 youngest to the Whickers for care. As these brothers, Oral & Calvin matured, they were united with their Dad as they farmed their Idaho land.
~~~~Please note~~~~
The Idaho County lines changed during the years you are researching. You will find Fremont & Madison Counties intermixed as Madison County, Idaho was formed from part of Fremont County, Idaho in 1913!~~~~~~~

Hope this is helping. I will send a follow-up to your Whickers question soon..this gets really interesting with all the misspellings.
