Peter Riffle, son of Jacob Riffle Sr, died and left two children...a son and daughter "Betsy" who was assigned to Peter's father, Jacob Riffle Senior to raise. In the same county (Braxton) households apart..same age...are two Jacob Riffle. John Wesley Mace is also father of: Not proved: 1869 b. Thomas Jefferson Mace, b. 1871 Iowa, married Rosella THOMPSON, residing Nebraska, Utah and Vancouver WA; and Adella Lucinda Mace, b. 1872 Jan 8 Newcastle NE, married Joseph Clark SMITH, b. 1864 July 28 PA, settling in Methow Valley at Pateros and Twisp, Washington in 1905. Adella Lucinda Mace Smith & Joseph Clark SMITH had 3 daughters...one named Clara Adelia Smith b. 1896 Feb 26, New Castle NE. Clara Smith married Wid Smith, brother of Ide (Theodore?) and Deke. Wid died in 1947 and Clara married WILLIAMS. Clara Smith SMITH WILLIAMS kept a diary for 50 years and had a large family whose offspring numbered over 100. Clara has son named Gerald SMITH who lived in Grangeville, Idaho who did much work on SMITH line. Clara has daughter Marty Hough (Mc Hough), Twisp, WA. Per Marty Hough, Clara's diary and family history records cannot be located since Clara's death. If you have knowledge of same, please contact me...for personal family info only for Marty and myself. Also, Clara's daughter provided a large box of photos and letters of all the Nebraska MACE clans...including photo of group at Congressional Church, Nebraska...and group school pictures. I saw the "picture box" briefly in 1993....and took a few notes...my cousin Dale Mace has the "picture box" that contain the only known photos of some of the elder MACE line. Hopefully, those photos and records will be shared with our elders...soon. Any info is appreciated. Hope this helps and thanks, Gloria
