Hi, I have been transcribing local cemeteries and have found 2 Pettis'.I am located central North Dakota so they may not be connected with yours , but one never knows.
Charles I. Pettis b.14 Sept.1909/d.03 Mar.1911
Roy A.Pettis b. 27 Jan.1908/d.07 Mar.1911
also on the headstone was:
Sleep on sweet babes and take thy rest,God called thee home , he thought it best.
They are located in RoseHill Cemetery,on hiway 49 in Beulah,North Dakota.Hope this fills in a hole or two for you.good luck,Terry
