Records from the Idaho penitentiary - including inmate files, "mug" shots, and general history - are held by the Idaho State Historical Society Library and Archives. Contact the reference staff through the ISHS homepage (www2.state.id.us/ishs/index.html) or by mail: Library and Archives, 450 N. Fourth St., Boise, ID 83702.

There are research fees but the staff will let you know how much before any fees are incurred.
