EDWARD CYR SR. TAKEN BY DEATH
Owned Barbershop Here for Last 28 Years; Funeral at 9:30 Tomorrow
Edward Cyr, Sr., 74, owner and manager of the O. K. Barber shop here for the last 28 years, dfied last evening at a local hospital following a week's illness with pneumonia. The family home is at 1111 Sherman Avenue.
Born in Maria Province, Quebec, Mr. Cyr came to the United States 54 years ago. He worked as a lumberman for some time, then going to Michigan where he served as sheriff of Loce County for eight years. He took up the barber trade at Newberry, Mich, 50 years ago which trade he continued until his death. The family came to Coeur d' Alene in 1908.
He was an active member of the local council of the Knights of Columbus and he was well known by the sports enthusiasts of the county.
Surviving him are his widow, Amelia B. Cyr at home; one daughter and three sons, Mrs. R E Danby, Edward Cyr Jr and Eugene Cyr of this city and Bruce Cyr of New York City; five grandchildren and a brother, Paul Cyr in Canada.
Requiem Mass will be said tomorrow at 9:30 o'clock at St. Thomas Catholic church and interment will be in St. Thomas cemetery. The Rosary will be recited this evening at 8 o'clock at the Mooney chapel.

TAKEN BY DEATH
Mrs. Cyr succombs after extended illness
Mrs. Amelia B. Cyr, 69, died last evening at the home of her daughter, Mrs. R E Danby, 1503 Lakeside Avenue, following a several months illness.
Mrs. Cyr was born in Ontario, Canada and came to the United States when 14 years of age. She came to Coeur d' Alene in 1909 with her husband; the late Edward Cyr from Newberry, Mich. The family home is at 1111 Sherman Avenue.
Surviving her are four children, Mrs. R E Danby, Edard and Eugene Cyr of this city and Bruce Cyr of New York City, her mother Mrs. Susan Doyle of Bremerton, Wash. and one sister, Mrs. Susie Leonhardt of Ontario, Canada, who is here at present and five grandchildren.
Requiem Mass will be said Friday at 9:30 o'clock from St. Thomas Catholic Church and interment will be in the Catholic cemetery beside the body of her husabnd who died last September. The Rosary will be recited Thursday evening at 8 o'clock at the Mooney Chapel.
