"Former I.F. man dies"

Jack Johnston, 87, a former resident of Idaho Falls, died Wednesday in a nursing home in Modesto, Calif. He was born Jan. 21, 1887, in Oklahoma. Mr. Johnston was married to Kathoryn Price in Blackfoot June 20, 1914. He operated the Stag Pool Hall in Idaho Falls for many years. He later started the Johnston Wholesale Co. of Idaho Falls. mr. Johnston is survived by a daughter, mrs. Helen J. Russell, address unknown; and a son, Richard L. Johnston of Modesto, Calif. Announcements concerning the funeral, which will be held in Idaho Falls, will be made later by the Buck-Sullivan Funeral Home.

Idaho Falls Post Register, Jun. 24, 1968, pg. 8:

"Mrs. Johnston, 85, Succumbs"

Kathoryn Price Johnston, 85, 288 11th St., died Monday morning at a local hospital. She had been in poor health the last few months. She had a stroke June 1 and was confined in the hospital from then until her death. She was born in St. Louis, Mo., Jan. 13, 1883 to John Thomas and Lennie Price. She came to Idaho in 1908 where she lived in Blackfoot until 1914. She married John Johnston, June 20, 1914, in Blackfoot. They lived in Pocatello until May, 1916, when they moved to Idaho Falls where she has resided since. She was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. She is survived by her husband, John Johnston and two daughters, Helen J. Russell, Wayne, Neb.; mrs. G. W. (Julia) Blackhurst, Ogden, Utah; and one son, Richard L. Johnston, Modesto, Calif.; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services are pending and will be announced by the Buck Funeral Home.

Idaho Falls Post Register, Jun. 30, 1968, pg. 11:

"Kathoryn Johnston"

A requiem Mass for Kathoryn Price Johnston who died June 24 in Idaho Falls at the age of 85 was conducted Friday at the Holy Rosary Church. The mass was celebrated by Rt. Rev. Msgr. C. M. Verhoeven. A recitation of the Holy Rosary was held the previous evening at Buck Memorial Chapel. Pallbearers were Ray Sullivan, Robert Fanning, Charles Stewart, Charles Oden, Ed Fanning, and John Lambrecht. Honorary pallbearers were Ralph Albaugh, Ernest Lundahl, Loran P. Summers, Harry L. Hops, E. F. mcDermott, William Powell, Dr. J. E. Bennett, G. L. Crapo, Tony J. Hahn, A. V. Larter, Parley Rigby, Harry Changnon, and John Collette. Altar boys at the service were Jim Lohse, Mike Kimbro, and Eric Schwartzenberger. Concluding services were held at the Rose Hill Cemetery. Reverend Charles G. Foltz officiated at the Committal Service.
