My cousin has the original picture of the Holcomb schoolhouse which means that my Aunt had it and it originally belonged to my grandparents.I camera copied it with my macro lens.It looks like the picture was taken just after competion of the new school in 1920.The roof of the school was a "hip" roof in that there were four sides to the roof. There was an inverted "V" shaped roof covering the front porch. The front porch had 4 posts that were thicker at the bottom than at the top and there were white slats and hand rails around the porch except in the middle where the steps were. The building was an all brick building on a cement foundation with six long narrow windows on the left side side and four long narrow windows in the front, one near each end of the front and one near each side of the front door within the porch area.Above the porch posts was a sign with "1897HOLCOMB1920" on it.There was one air vent in the foundation on the left side of the school and one on the left side of the porch.
