Thanks again. Alfred was born in Oregon, and came to Idaho with his mother and her new husband, Nazaire Carpentier, after the death of Auguste Douillot in Oregon. Alfred had a brother, whose name I can't remember just now. Not sure what happened to him, but I realize he isn't on the death index.

I lived in Boise when I was a child for a short period, but don't remember meeting any Douillot cousins. I would have thought with two male descendents, there would be someone left, but probably under a different name. There were Carpentiers in the 50s (a long time ago!).

I live in England now, and am grateful for the trouble you've taken.
