Can anyone help me out with the parentage of Elizabeth Icenogle (born about 1812 in PA, died 1873 Brown Co., IL) who married Henry Wilgus? Here is what I know about them: 1850 census, IN, Owen Co., Marion, pg 141: Henry Wilgus, age 49, farmer, born NJ; Elizabeth, age 39, born PA; Elizabeth, age 17; George, age 14; Jane, age 12; Mariah, age 8; Cornelius, age 6; Marion, age 4; Permelia, age 2; all children born OH. 1860 census, IL, Brown Co., Mt. Sterling twp., pg 697: Henry Wilgus, age 56, born NJ; Mrs. E., age 49, born PA; Cornelius, age 16, born OH; Francis M., age 14, born OH; Permelia, age 12, born OH; John H., age 9, born IN; Ellen, age 6, born IN; Isadora, age 3, born IL. 1870 census, IL, Mt. Sterling, pg 88: Henry Wilgus, age 66, born NJ, Elizabeth, age 58, born PA; Cornelius, age 26, born OH; Marion, age 24, born IN; John, age 20, born OH; Ellen, age 16, born IN; Isadora, age 14, born IL; Anna, age 2, born IL; Mary E., age 3 mo., born IL; Jane, age 3, born IL. [The last three must be grandchildren, maybe children of Francis Marion & Mary.] Someone told me that the parents of Elizabeth were Henry Icenogle and Elizabeth Springer, but their daughter Elizabeth seems to have been born at least 10 years earlier than the Elizabeth who married Henry Wilgus. If you can share any information on the Icenogle family it would be appreciated. Notify Administrator about this message?
