Research done so far indicates the original name was Eisennagle. The family so far seems to be brothers Thomas, Henry, Jacob, Christian and possibly Michael. Thomas and Henry came to Frederick Co. in the late 1700's. The clan migrated first to Ohio and Ky. then dispersed to Ill. and In. and on to Mo. and parts west. We have not been able to connect to predicessors of these brothers and the name as of now cannot be found in German records. Roger Icenogle of Industry, Ill, e mail ironnail@netins.net, has a vast amount of material on this family and publishes a news letter at various intervals.
I am descended from Thomas and any material I have is at your disposal
