Islendingabok - compare relation

Hi,

I just have a question regarding Islendingabok.
I remember from my childhood that my grandmothers’ sister liked to brag to us Norwegian relatives about all those famous Icelandic that we were related to. However, when I compare relationship whit these people that I remember that she mentioned they all pop up in my grandfathers’ linage. …and I’m a 100% sure that she was not talking about his ancestors as my grandfather has been/still are a non-topic in the family.

So, how does Islendingabok work if you are related to someone in both linage, does it show the linage with the closest relation… any one hwo knows?

Regards,
Arna
