This is quite difficult.The records of Laugarbrekka parish before 1831 are lost, so there is no record of his birth.We are currently entering the census of 1835, and maybe that will give some clue to his ancestry.My current guess (but it is only a guess, nothing more) is that his father was Jens Jónsson, born in 1790 - but as I said, that is a guess, based only on the fact that this Jens was the only person with this name in Snæfellsnessýsla in 1801....however, people can move around in 16 years....
So, as I said, I cannot provide any information on Johannes at the moment.Tracing his wife (Hildur Bjarnadóttir) is also difficult, but her mother (Guðrún Illugadóttir) has at least one branch that goes pretty far back.
