I have a book called Vestarfaraskra (A Record of Emigrants from Iceland to America) that I bought from the University of Iceland. It is available in many main branches of libraries in Canada. It contains names of about 14,000 of the estimated 20,0000 Icelanders that emmigrated from Iceland between 1870 and 1914. It lists the port they came from, and in some cases the name of the ship and where they were bound for. It is not foolproof.
