I am looking for anyone who knows the Sigurdson's.I am not sure how common the name is in Iceland. My great grand parents where born there and came to Canada, Manitoba. My grandmother Lillian and her siblings were born in Manitoba (I was told) Her parents were from Iceland. (I think both). She had one brother Peter, and 2 sisters, Ruth & Lula. She was born about 1912 (died 1975ish in Richmond BC - she drowned).
I would be looking for the children & grand children of Lillian's siblings I would think only Peter would have had children.
One sister died about 1920 in her early teens due to illness. The other sister lived out her days in a institution until her death in about the 70's.
Lillian was married to Clifford William Newstead (born in the U.K.) and had 4 children, Joan, Gary, Barry, Clifford. Barry died at the age of 6 when he was caught in a fire. All Lillian's children and grand children live in BC. If any of this sound like a story you may have heard around the family table any information would be greatly appreciated.
