In addition to what has already been said, I must add that the "slashed-o" letter does not even exist in the Icelandic alphabet - This is a Danish letter, but the the Icelandic equivalent is "Ö".

Regarding Björg - would this happen to be the one who married Hans Hansson and emigrated in 1882, together with their daughter Sigríður? If so, their ancestry is thoroughly traced in the islendingabok database.
