Does anybody have information on "Salletta Iaquinta?"
I've been doing some family research, and my grandfather, Sam Vallonga(also at various points as "sam Veling," "Sam Velonge," I suspect his name wasoriginally "Vallelongo," or some variant.
His first wife, who died in early to mid 1920's, was named Saletta Iaquinta. She and Sam both came from S. Italy--He from Fabrizia, and she from San Giovanni di Fiore. They lived in Clarksburg, he worked as a coalminer.
I have not been able to "place" her--only reference I can find is 1920 census which lists her and sam, and their children: Fred (my Dad), Elizabeth, and Mary. If anyone can help fill the gap, I would be grateful! I think "Sallie" deserves to be remembered
