McKinley Iames was the son of James Lewis Iames and elizabeth Cooper. The surname started out in Maryland with William Iiams or Ijams and Elizabeth Cheyney Iiams. Some kept the spelling of Iiams and others dropped the second 'i' and used Iames. While others used the spelling of Iams or Imes. Most generally they all have the same common ancestor. Please contact me at I would be happy to share with you what I have on your family. Roberta
