Joshua Ramay, Ramey, Remy, etc.

I am seeking help in finding records for my Fourth Great Grandfather. My Thrice Great Grandfather, Joshua Ramay, was born in Virginia (probably on the northern part) in 1781. He may have been born in Berkeley County (now West Virginia). He definitely lived in Berkeley in 1807 when he married Rachael Sellers. I have a copy of their wedding certificate, although the certifying official read the surname as Raving not Ramey. I think that it might well have actually been spelled Rainy on the Certificate. Joshua and Rachel eventually moved to Greene Township, Clark County, Ohio. I do not know if this was a direct move or if they lived somewhere else between Berkeley County, Virginia and Greene, Ohio. In the 1830 census Joshua is in Greene, Clark, Ohio and his surname is spelled Raney. In the 1850 Census both Joshua and Rachael are listed. Here Joshua’s surname is spelled Ramey and Rachael’s maiden name is shown as Sellers. I have not been able to determine who Joshua’s parents were. I would appreciate any help that you might be able to give me in making this determination. Thanx, Bob Ramay
