Is anyone familiar with William Henry Davitt, born Sept 1900, married to Frances Nilles? I am William's granddaughter.
I know William was born in central Iowa (Warren or Madison County). I'd like to find out more about him--where he was born and his parents and grandparents.
I recall that he had four siblings: May (Lynch), Huey, Ray, and Francis.
I am thinking he might be a grandchild of James Davitt, Sr., and Catherine Keenan. There is a tombstone for Philip H. Davitt in Bevington, IA, and based on the dates, I would guess that Philip is their child. The dates also make it possible that Philip is William's father.
Philip was born in 1867 and died in 1922. He was married to Mary, born 1878, in Ireland, and died 1965. Again, I got this information from tombstones.
