I live in California and I have just returned yesterday from a trip to Iowa. I need some help. Does anyone know what agency you would contact for information on graves in Warren County? In particular, I am interested in the 1)Carlisle Cemetery- I was able to find my g-grandparents and 3 of my great uncles, buried in Section C--there looks to be 2 more graves there, unmarked, and I believe my gg-grandparents may be buried there although they are not on the list of those buried there. So, I want to find out who, if anyone is in those graves in that section. Another uncle is buried a few rows back and I'm sure if those graves were empty in section C he would have been buried there. 2) There is a whole cemetery located two miles north of Sandyville in Section 10---that would have been my gg-grandfather's back in the late 1800's. It's called the Conklin Cemetery. My gg-grandfather's name was Ephraim Conklin. Supposedly there are 31 graves there. We tried to get back there but it appears someone is living on the property with dogs and we didn't want to go trapsing through the property. There was a lot of very heavy brush also. We crossed over the railroad tracks on foot, but didn't do up the hill. Does anyone know how you would contact someone concerning this property??? Hopefully someone will read this and know how to contact some county official or something???? Thanks Notify Administrator about this message?
