The Chariton Leader, Chariton, Iowa Thursday, December 18, 1907 ELMINA DOUGLASS was born in Morgan County, Indiana, October 16, 1831, and died at her home in this city, Dec. 16, 1907, after a long illness with a complication of diseases. She was united in marriage to J.H. STEVENS, April 1st, 1856 in Putnam County, Indiana. In l875 they came to Warren County, Iowa, and to Chariton in 1883, where she has since resided. She was converted and joined the Methodist Episcopal Church when sixteen years of age, and has since been a devoted Christian. She leaves a husband and seven children to mourn the loss of a loving companion and mother, ANDREW STEVENS; MRS. E.V. MITCHEM; MRS. M.L. KITSELMAN, of this city; MRS. IDA BERRY, of Centerville; MRS. AMANDA KITSELMAN, of Superior, Wy.; D.S. STEVENS, of Albia; and J.W., of Brookfield, Mo. Funeral services conducted by Rev. Evans, of the M.E. Church, were held from the home Wednesday afternoon, at 2 o'clock, and interment made in Chariton Cemetery.
