Greetings Ann,
My name is Jake Thorn. Though I am not a Notestine descandant, John A. Notestine's wife, Catherine Ann Barber, is a younger sister to my GGGGrandmother, Abigail (Barber)Thorn.
My real interest in the Notestine line, has the hope of identifying Abigail & Catherine's, Barber & Kenyon grandfather's & grandmother's. I also add what ever Notestine information I find to my data base.
I have a small network of Notestine researchers that I am in contact with. One is another direct descendant of John & Catherine on the Westerfield line. One a descendant of John A.'s brother Samuel. One is the whole, Notestine Family internet site. The last are historical researchers in Juniata Co. PA.
John Allen Notestine, seems to have moved from Juniata Co, PA To Peoria Co., IL, with his Uncle Michael, when John was 20, the year was about 1853. The Notestine Family in PA kinda lost track of them, after that. John's sister Rebecca Jane somehow got to Illinois as well & married Abigail's & Catherine's brother David w. Barber, in Peoria Co., Il. David stayed in Illinois while the Thorn's & Notestine'e moved on to th Milo, area of Warren Co., IA.
Ann, this is getting long for a posting. Please contact me directly, at your convience. We'll put something together for your children, for sure.
Thanks, Jake in Illinois
