John Francis Kellar was born to Benjamin Harrison Kellar and Catharine Ann Miller of Noble Co., OH. He served in DC during the Civil War as a bodyguard of President Lincoln moving to Warren Co., IA in 1870 and then to Nebraska about 1883. The book includes family photos, excerpts from his war diaries, etc.

Harrison and Catharine Kellar have some 879 family members listed. Both they and their children came to the Prole area after the Civil War (see the index at the above website).

The book includes more than 4,300 people in 700 pages with more than 870 autobiographies, biographies, news articles and obituaries.

This Kellar family spread west from Virginia to Noble County, OH; Brown County, IN; Hamilton, Crawford, Lawrence, Ford and McLean counties of IL; Vernon County, WI; Henry and St. Clair counties of MO; Warren County, IA; Cherry Co., NE; Multnomah County, OR; Cowlitz County, WA; Los Angeles County, CA and many of the neighboring counties of these listed.
