Hello! John A & Elizabeth Carson had eight children between 1845 and 1865 (William George, Andrew J, Sarah J, Mary A, Richard S, John W, Alice L, Elizabeth F) and they were in Green, Wapello, Iowa in 1860, 1870 and 1880. Elizabeth died in 1871 and he married Cordelia Trotter in 1872.
In Zion Cemetery there is a stone that has:
Elizabeth; wife of J.W. Carson died Oct 1, 1871 aged 44yr 9m 16ds
J.W. Sept. 18, 1857-April 30, 1904
A.J. Carson Feb. 11, 1848-June 26, 1897
J.A. died Oct. 4, 1871 aged 44y 8m 19ds
But it can't be right. J W and A J are sons with J A the father and he married again in 1872. I don't suppose anyone has a photograph of the stone?
