I am digging in deeper into my geneaolgy adventure in Mahaska and Wapello counties. My great grand mother was Melissa Ellen Fisher who was born in Mahaska Nov. 4, 1858. She is listed as an pioneer. Source: Proud Mahaska 1843-1900 Fisher, Melissa, E. , farmer, Sec. 16 P.O. Agricola.
The family moved from Parke Co. Indiana. Melissa was the only sibling of seven born in Mahaska. The Fisher line goes back to George Fisher. Melissa married Fred W. Kibler.
Melissa's parents were Carey Fisher & Elizabeth (Allen) Fisher.
They had the follwing children:

Sarah Louise FISHER Dec 8 1854 - Rock Creek, Parke County, Indiana
Melissa Ellen FISHER Nov 4 1858 in Mahaska County, Iowa (married Fred W. Kibler)
