The 1847 census of Wapello Co. is just a tax list. Nathan Tuttle appears on this list, along with Abram Tuttle, and William Tuttle.

William D. Tuttle is in the 1850 Federal census for Wapello Co., IA, stating he was born in Pennsylvania about 1821; and Daniel Tuttle, age 27, born in Ohio in this same census record. I can't tell if these men are related to Nathan.

Perhaps Nathan died in Wapello Co. after 1847 but before 1850. Could he have gone to Ohio and then into Iowa? Not sure.
