Followup: Since my posting I have obtained Napoleon's obit and contacted the health department in Wapello County, IA. His parents were not William T. Underwood and Priscilla Hockensmith. I now strongly believe that my ancestor Napoleon's parents were William T. and Priscilla. Not only did the health department in Iowa say Napoleon's (Poe) parents were not William and Priscilla, but they said his birth place wasn't Indiana.
