Seeking information on Thomas H. Goodwin, third son (and fourth child) of James Horace Goodwin (of CT) and Ruth Negley Goodwin (of PA). Thomas was born in Allegheny Co. (probably Tarentum or Deer Twp.), PA in Abt 1845. Moved to Clark Co., MO with his family by the time of the 1860 census. He is listed with his mother (Ruth NEGLEY GOODWIN) and two brothers in Wapello Co., IA in 1870. He was listed as an auctioneer. Felix Casper Negley’s 1898 Negley family genealogy says that he was in Jasper Co., IA, but I have no other evidence of this. Could not find him in the 1880 or 1900 censuses, but he may be listed in the 2nd ward of Prague, Lincoln Co., OK. He was still single and claimed to have been born in PA. He was a merchant in an Antique Store. According to the 1910 census, Thomas’ mother was born in PA and his father in CT. Did Thomas serve in the Civil War? Where was he at the time of the 1880 and 1900 censuses? Did he ever marry and have children. When and where did he die? Willing to share information.
