Mr. Drewry: Our Stout family came from Snow Camp, N.C. thru Illinois and Missouri on up to Iowa. My wife is related thru Richard and Penelope Stout families of N.J.They settled in Washington County, IA in and around the Brighton area, settling in and around the 1830's. Ephraim Stout would probably be my wife's ggggrandfather, had a dau. Rachel Stout who mar. Abraham Olinger, and he and her father Ephraim settled in Mehama, Oregon.
I have his last will and Testament. I believe he was bur. on the Abraham Olinger farm there in Oregon. If by chance, you might want to secure the book, entitled, "Stout and Allied Families," pub. by Rear Admiral Harold F. Stout, ret. He died a few years ago and I believe his children are carrying on his work on the Stout Family. He has as far as I know, three volumes on the Stouts. (2) volumes on the English Stouts, of which our family belong, and vol. 3 on the German Stouts, (Staudt and Stouts).
I want to thank you for your time and effort.
I used to live in and around the Agency, Ia area, more closer to Ottumwa and Farson, Ia.
