Searching for any info on James and Elizabeth (Riffel) Moss of Ottumwa, and George and Catherine (Houk) Moss of Wapello Co. James Moss and family appear in 1915 and 1910 census records in Ottumwa, Wapello Co. In 1900, they resided in Lick Creek Twp, Davis Co. His wife during that time was Elizabeth Riffel. Together they had five children: Ida M., Rosa A., Henry L., Harry, and Daisy. Both had children from previous marriages: James had Lillie Alma and Celia F. Moss with first wife, Mary A. Henson. Elizabeth had Lena E., William, and Bessie with first husband, Mr. Glossen. Several moved to Lincolnville, Marion Co., Kansas at some point in time. George Moss and family appear in 1880, 1885, 1900, 1910, and 1915 census records of Green Twp, Wapello Co. George and Catherine M. had 7(?) children: John H., Sarah E., Alice, Charles A., Dilly Dell, Bertie M., George L. Several moved to Davenport apparently. James and George Moss were both Civil War veterans in Company D, 15th Regiment, 2nd Consolidated Veteran Infantry of Iowa. I would like to know when family members died and where they are buried. My hunch is that most are in Wapello Co.
