There is an old church in Platteville near the intersection of Main and Green streets (such as they exist today). The church has the date 1875 carved over the front door. Denomination unknown.

The church was an empty shell when I last visited in 1986.

Does anyone have information about this church and whether any of its records survive?

My Matheny family lived nearby from about 1870 to after 1936.
