I haven't checked courthouse records yet, but he wasn't buried in Taylor county.

The 1895 census in Dysart, Tama county, shows his father's name as Albert S, and that Wm E was born in Taylor county. Siblings were born in Page county, back to Taylor county, then 2 children in Nebraska, before the family moved to Tama county.

The 1900 census shows Wm in Hancock county with a June 1871 birth.

Children Laurence and Alice are both living in Wright county, Iowa in 1930. Maybe you can find more info in one of these locations.

I will check and see if the birth was recorded here, but not many were before 1880.
