Hi again.
This is a most interesting theory that James Bell was married before he married my ggg aunt Margaret Bell. On the 1850 census they are married with Leander 7 and Mary J 1. They all reside in Porter Twp Clarion CO Pa. all born in Pa as its goes.
1870 They are in New Bethlehem Clarion CO more children and all state born in Pa. Leander is on his own by this time.
1880 I find son John Bell 27 in Tama born Pa single, farm hand.
1880 William Bell 24 Tama Iowa farm hand born Pa single.
1880 Washington CO Sherman Kansas James F Bell[e]sic 60 born Pa with son James F. 26 and Emma 17 kids born Pa.
Margaret is nowhere to be found.
Her brother Absalom Woodward Fox is buried in the Redman Cemetery near Tama.
I do not have any documentation on the marriage of James and Margaret.
Did you get Leanders moms name from his civil war records?
I dont know much of James Bells people.
TerryAnn
