A baby boy was born to Margaret Mickelson and John Efting in the Fall of 1940 or 1941 in Sibley, Iowa.
The next day, word had gotten to the County Worker, Mrs. Vos. She came to the house and demanded that they give up the baby despite pleas from mother and grandmother.
Shortly thereafter, someone came and took the baby away. It was the usual practice in those days for Osceola County to take the children to the Florence Crittendan Home in Sioux City, Iowa, for adoption.
Family members have never forgotten him, and often wondered what had happened to the little boy.
Both natural parents are deceased now, but his Aunt would still like to find him, if there is any way.
