Elizabeth Elida Peterson was born in Oskalooso, Iowa in 1887 to Anna Anderson and Unknown Peterson. When she was 5 her mother died and her father dropped her off at the sheriff's house when she was about 7 and abandoned her. Nancy Eslinger of Albia, Iowa took her in and changed her name to Nettie Eslinger, not legally. Does anyone have any suggestions for finding out more about her parents and the Eslinger family? Her father had remarried when he abandoned her.
