The Chariton Leader, Chariton, Iowa

BESSIE, daughter of MR. and MRS. DAVID DAVIS, of Cleveland, Iowa, was born in Monroe County, Iowa, Jan. 30, 1893, and died at her home in Cleveland, August 11, 1907, aged 14 years, 6 months and 12 days. Little BESSIE has been a sufferer from dropsy and heart failure for 6 months, when the Great Deliverer came to her rescue. She was a patient sufferer in bearing her affliction. While in health she paid her best respects to the S.S. and church services.
BESSIE was a lovable child, obedient to her parents and loved her associates. Her presence will be greatly missed in the home, being the only daughter, leaving the father, mother and two brothers to mourn their loss. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. M.S. Clark, at the Baptist Church in Chariton, and interment made in the Chariton Cemetery. Bereaved ones have the sympathy of the many friends.
