In any case, we want to include you in the good news that the book, _From the Loess Hills of Iowa: the memoirs of Iva Conyers Hansen (1889-1988), with a Conyers family history_ by Arden Iva Sleadd and Terri Napoli, is ready for publication. We hope to have it off the presses no later than spring 2002, and possibly earlier.

> The memoirs of Iva Conyers Hansen (1889-1988), Arden's grandmother, span her early life coinciding with that last generation of pioneers to travel by covered wagon and settle the west. Her story touches on the early history
of Idaho, Kansas, Oregon, South Dakota, and Iowa, as she and her family traveled and lived there. Iva was born in Monona County, IA and lived in Monona and Harrison counties in her lifetime. Her keen memory retained rich details of her tragic girlhood. The names, places and dates in her writings have been researched and largely confirmed. The human side of her experiences-including the early death of her parents, and her travel by covered wagon-will touch your heart.
The Conyers family history reaches back to the 1700s in England, tracing out ancestor's migration to America and across the continent. Terri has been researching the Conyers family for ten years and has gathered a very large amount of documentation.
This book will be over 400 pages and will include over seventy photographs, dating back as early as 1840. There are over 3500 names in the CONYERS family tree; among the surnames are:
