Hi Emil,

Here is a bit more on the family from census records.

1900 HAYES, CRAWFORD, IA
WIESENBORN
Charles, age 33, farm labourer, born June 1876 Germany immigrated 1895

Eliza,age 33, born Sept. 1876 Germany immigrated 1895

Louis, age 6, son born Nov. 1893 Germany immigrated 1895

Charles H., age 4, son born Nov. 1895 IA

Frederic W., age 2, son born June 1898 IA

all show both parents born Germany

1910 SAC, SAC, IA
WISHENBORN/WITTENBORN/WISKENBARN (as indexed)(image looks like Wishenborn)

Charles, age 43, laborer, farm, born Germany parents born Germany immigrated 1895, Naturalized, married 19 years

Eliza P., age 43, wife, born Germany parents born Germany, married 19 years 8 children born 7 living

Fredwig, age 16, son, labourer, born Germany

Charles H., age 13, son, born IA

Fritz W., age 11, son born IA

Martha C.M. age 8, daughter, born IA

Willie, age 7, son born IA

Anna S., age 4, daughter, born IA

Henry W., age 1-11/12 , son, born IA

all children show both parents born Germany

I looked for them coming in to US about 1895 to see if it would say where they lived in Germany

This seems to fit for Eliza and son

New York, Passenger Lists, 1820-1957 about Ludvig Weisenborn
Name:       Ludvig Weisenborn
Arrival Date:       19 Feb 1896
Birth Date:       abt 1894
Age:       2
Gender:       Male
Ethnicity/ Nationality:       German
Port of Departure:       Bremen
Port of Arrival:       Baltimore, Maryland
Ship Name:       Munchen
Search Ship Database:       Search the Munchen in the 'Passenger Ships and Images' database

WEISENBORN
Elise, age 29, married , going to Westside

Ludwig, age 2

and this is likely Charles , listed as Carl which sounds more German to me ? He may have changed it to Charles after arrival in US

New York, Passenger Lists, 1820-1957 about Carl Weisenborn
Name:       Carl Weisenborn
Arrival Date:       1 Mar 1895
Birth Date:       abt 1867
Age:       28
Gender:       Male
Ethnicity/ Nationality:       German
Port of Departure:       Bremen
Port of Arrival:       Baltimore, Maryland
Ship Name:       Stuttgart
Search Ship Database:       Search the Stuttgart in the 'Passenger Ships and Images' database

it doesn't give any further info on him in the image other than he is a labourer

**********

they all left from Bremen but that seems to be pretty common so not sure it helps much to narrow it down - and as they came in through Baltimore and not NY they will not be in Ellis Island records.

I went back to 1910 to look at Fredwig's name and it is indexed that way but in the image it could be Ludwig - hard to tell

you mentioned Eliza's maiden name might be GOOSCOURT

Marriage of son Will at familysearch.org shows her name as Eliza GROOSCOURT - with the r

Birth info son Carl Henry Nov. 17, 1896 shows his parents as Carl WEISHENBOM and Eliza GRASKURTH

Birth for daughter Martha May 29, 1901 shows Karl Wisenborn and Elise Grosshurtte

so various forms of her maiden name which I suppose only makes it that much harder to find her in German records.
