Below are Find a Grave memorials for Christian and his first wife. According to an online tree Christian had no daughter named Mary. There was Peter Walker Batschelet also in that county, but also had no daughter Mary that I can see.

Sorry, not much help.

from Find a Grave:
Christian E. Batschelet
Birth:        Sep. 27, 1845, Switzerland
Death:        Aug. 13, 1933
Spencer
Clay County
Iowa, USA

from Find a Grave, his wife:
Maria Ann "Mary" Marolf Batschelet
Birth:        Nov. 17, 1854
Death:        Feb. 11, 1884
Parents:
Peter Samuel Marolf (1823 - 1864)
Anna Barbara Marolf Marolf (1829 - 1916)
Note: Died at age 29 of consumption
